How much are commissions?

We pay 10% new and renewal commission for policies sold through your unique writing link (but any policies sold outside of that link will not receive commission). Commissions will be paid monthly and are separate from any commissions (and reporting received) from EyeMed group business. At this time, we’re unable to combine EyeMed Individual and EyeMed group commissions.

Is there a fee to get appointed?

Yes. We charge a small administrative fee - $25 for your resident state and $20 for each non-resident state.

What if I’m already appointed with EyeMed to sell group business?

Thank you for being a valued partner – we’re glad you’re with us. Our EyeMed group and EyeMed Individual operations are maintained separately, including agent appointments. So even though you’re already appointed to sell group business, you’ll still need to complete the forms to get appointed for EyeMed Individual.

How quickly can I get appointed?

After completing and submitting the online forms, you will generally receive confirmation and your unique writing link in 10 business days or less.

What are my options to get customers enrolled with EyeMed Individual?

All of your customers must be enrolled through your unique writing link in order for you to receive credit. Customers may access your link from your website, from an email sent by you, through social media posted by you or any other electronic means.

Can customers choose an effective date?

Yes. Customers may choose from 3 future effective date options, always on the 1st of a month. Enrollments completed on or before the 20th of each month may become effective on the 1st of the following month at the earliest. Enrollments completed after the 20th of each month may become effective on the 1st of the next full month at the earliest. For example, a customer who enrolls on the 18th of October can choose to become effective on November 1st, December 1st, or January 1st. Yet a customer who enrolls on the 23rd of October can choose to become effective on December 1st  January 1st, or February 1st.

Will customers need to pay an extra fee to an association or other organization?

No. There is no association fee required to receive EyeMed Individual, and our members are not required to join an association.

Why are there agreements from 3 entities to get appointed for EyeMed online business (EyeMed Individual)?

We have trusted partnerships with other organizations to help us deliver a seamless product to you. Fidelity Security Life, or FSL, is the underwriter of our product and assumes risk. SASid and InsuranceTPA.com are the development organization and the 3rd party administrator assisting with broker appointments, commissions and other activities. Licensed agents desiring to sell EyeMed plans online must sign agreements with all 3 organizations, unless you are already appointed with FSL (in which case you will sign 2 agreements).

I’ve already been appointed with FSL to sell EyeMed group products.  Do I still need to get appointed for EyeMed online business (EyeMed Individual)?

If you’re already appointed with FSL to sell and receive in-house group quotes from EyeMed, you will not need another appointment with FSL. However, you’ll still need to sign agreements with SASid/InsuranceTPA.com and EyeMed for EyeMed online business.  Simply go through the appointment process, indicate that you are already appointed with FSL and complete the remainder of the forms.
