The rise of these convenience services got us at EyeMed thinking: how do we make vision care more convenient?

EyeMed pioneered network convenience by offering the largest, most diverse selection of retail providers - open evenings and weekends. EyeMed's provider locater empowers patients to schedule an appointment online without leaving the site. EyeMed even offers the industry's most customer service hours. What's the next major leap in convenience?

Taking a nod from the success of worksite flu shots and mammograms, EyeMed is introducing its Pop-Up Clinic.

The Pop-Up Clinic is our own traveling optical shop that we take directly to our clients and their employees, and it's the only temporary service of its kind in the industry. We set up in your facility, so plan members can receive a comprehensive eye exam from a local doctor and then browse an on-site store for contact lenses and hundreds of frames from brands such as Ray-Ban, Oakley, Persol, Coach and more.

Employees can sign up for appointments and have their eyewear delivered to their homes, offices or a local network provider. Eliminating the traditional stumbling blocks (remembering to schedule, taking time off work) encourages greater participation. It simply could not be easier for a member to use his or her benefits.

An added bonus? Eye exams can be an accurate means of detecting the early signs of hypertension, cholesterol and diabetes. That means the Pop-Up Clinic is serving more than your employees' vision needs; it's helping to monitor and protect their overall health.

Healthier, happier employees who don’t need to come to work late or leave early to care for their eyesight? I imagine you might be wondering what the catch is.

But in fact, we make the Pop-Up Clinic as stress-free for clients as it is for members. EyeMed handles all setup and removal, and we even provide promotional collateral and appointment reminders for you to use with your employees.

We can be on-site for 3 to 5 days, depending on demand. All you have to do is supply the space, and we'll take it from there.

Pop-up clinics aren't currently feasible for all clients, but they do give us some insight into the future of convenient benefit utilization.
